Course summary

Build your own masters degree tailored to your ambitions and professional interests, and enhance your career, with our flexible MSc programme. Whatever your role in health or social care, our experienced team will work with you to develop a bespoke pathway to meet your current needs and future ambitions. This could include developing your skills and experiences in leadership, management or patient care, or pursuing a specific interest in a certain population group. For example, you may have a specific interest in the support of people or populations such as those with mental health needs, or the older person or the acutely ill adult and we can support you to tailor your programme accordingly.

Assessment method

The way we assess you is designed to help you: integrate theory and practice, maximise your critical, thinking and analysis skills, develop your understanding of health sciences/mental health sciences The way we assess you may include: a strategy document, a business plan, a change management project report or proposal, an investigation of an incident or complaint, a presentation to a Trust board or sub committee, a ‘conference’ poster and supporting paper; an educational package; an academic essay.


Entry requirements

UK 2.2 Bachelor Hons degree or above or an equivalent standard in other qualifications approved by the University in a relevant subject from a clinical, health or science background. If you don’t have an undergraduate degree you may still be able to apply. You’ll need to show evidence of one of the following: accredited study within the last 5 years at a higher education institution at level 6, passed at 50% or above evidence of recent non accredited study as a practitioner in a relevant professional role successful completion of a module studied at master’s level (level 7)
