Course summary

Mixing theory and practice, this programme offers you the opportunity for in-depth study of organisations and the management of work. It allows you to work towards a professional level of membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). During the second semester, you will produce an integrated dissertation and research report based on analysing a human resource issue in an organisation

Core classes: Business Skills; HRM in a Business Context; Contemporary Employment Relations; Employee Reward; People Resourcing; Leading, Managing and Developing People; Critical Issues in HRM; Research Methods Elective classes: Labour and Diversity in a Global Context; Managing HR in Multinationals; SBS Spring School, Leadership in Organisations; Psychometrics in Organisations

Assessment method

Classes are assessed by various methods which include essays, individual and group projects and final exams. The exams are generally held in December and April.
