Course summary

We train you for the industry of the future. If you want to write uplifting, epic orchestral music for film, games or television, this is the course that will give you the technical and creative skills to turn that dream into a reality. Orchestration for Film Games and Television takes you from first sketch through sampled mock-up, then onto the final recording with a live orchestral session, giving you all the knowledge you need to turn a musical idea into a professionally recorded live orchestral score.

Writing for Strings, Writing for Woodwind, Sampling Technology, Elective, Writing for Brass, Harp and Percussion, Scoring for Orchestra, Session Preparation, Orchestration in Practice, Final Major Project.

Assessment method

All assessments will be practical coursework.

Entry requirements

Applicants are required to have successfully completed an undergraduate degree in any subject. A limited number of places are available for non-degree holders (See website for more details).
