Do you want to change the world? This is a unique course aimed at students who want to develop high-level skills and capabilities to undertake important roles to help transform society. If you are interested in leading and creating projects, innovations and approaches that make a difference to communities locally or around the world, then this course is for you. It will introduce you to a wide range of social issues affecting people globally, such as poverty, inequality, mental health and sustainable development, and you will explore how they affect society, the planet and people's chances in life. You will develop the skills to identify unmet needs and you will learn how to tackle the root causes of social issues, whilst helping communities to develop their capacity to contribute effectively to social change. The course has been created with communities, students and practitioners and will be delivered by speakers who can offer real-world experiences and practice-based learning opportunities. You will undertake live projects every year of the course which will build up your three-year portfolio of experience. These projects are also designed to help to build your personal profile and to make a difference whilst you study. This interdisciplinary course combines subjects including sociology, politics, economics, philosophy, management and enterprise. It will help you to develop a wide range of 21st century skills such as innovation, design, collaboration, marketing, sustainability, digital and tech, debating, social inclusion, public speaking, social skills, critical thinking, training, systems, and leadership.
