Course summary
This progression to level 6 degree is a one-year full time course designed specifically for students with English as a second or other language and who have existing international qualifications, an ENIC recognised associate degree. It consists of one full day on campus, in small classes, plus online study that you can do in your own time. We have a timetable to fit perfectly around your other life commitments, like work and childcare and a range of assessments. The course is for international students who want to study in the UK and gain a full business and vocational related honours degree alongside the high level English Language and study skills you will need for career development or postgraduate study. You may be currently residing inside or outside the UK and want to earn a full UK honours degree. You may want to use this opportunity to show your ability to continue to English-medium postgraduate study. This can include areas such as translation, education, communication, English language, entrepreneurship, health, management and so on. This degree fully integrates English language development and study skills and includes a project module to prepare for master’s level study. At Marjon, we have excellent teachers from a variety of backgrounds and we aim to help develop your vocational knowledge with taught classes and personalised tuition to suit your needs. You will study Cross-cultural communication, Business and Academic English and your own subject specialism, which we will discuss with you individually as part of the application process to make sure we can help you realise your goals. This degree is about you and developing your careers goals. It is a great chance to prove and improve your English skills at a very high level. It can also act as a general preparation to Postgraduate study. If you know exactly what you want to do next, in the Professional Studies and Project modules, you can choose to study a subject you are familiar with, or already qualified in, and gain the experience of studying and writing on this topic in English. It’s up to you!
