This programme aims to develop your interest in and knowledge and understanding of User Experience (UX) and: • Provide the knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practice from a range of discipline areas within the field of UX; • Develop your competence and understanding of theory and practice applicable to areas ranging from computer science, engineering and design; • Develop your critical, analytical, problem-based learning skills and the transferable skills to prepare you for graduate employment; • Provide you with transferable skills, such as oral and written communication, time management, group working, and to assist you in subsequent employment or study; • Develop your creative skills in interaction design through practice and the evaluation of that practice. Entry requirements for advanced entry (i.e. into Year 2 and beyond)

To enter this programme at the start of Year 2 you must have either: • three SQA Advanced Highers (or equivalent) to include one of the following : maths, physics, computing, statistics, economics, chemistry, engineering science, graphic design or art and design or • an HNC in Design or HNC Computing or HNC User Experience or HNC Engineering (or equivalent) with a B in the graded unit To enter this programme at the start of Year 3 you must have: an HND Digital Design & Development or HND User Experience Design (or equivalent) with BB in the graded units To enter this programme at the start of Year 4 you must have: • a Scottish bachelor’s degree in User Experience or Interaction Design (or equivalent)

Standard Qualification Requirements

Minimum Year 2 Entry Requirements HNC - Pass in Design, Computing, User Experience or Engineering with B in the graded unit. SQA Advanced Highers - BBC to include one of the following subjects: Maths, Physics, Computing, Statistics, Economics, Chemistry, Engineering Science, Graphic Design or Art and Design Advanced Higher BB and SQA Higher BB to include at least one of subjects listed above A-Level - BBB to include at least one of subjects listed above BTEC Extended Diploma - DDD in a related subject Minimum Year 3 Entry Requirements HND in Digital Design and Development, User Experience Design or Visual Communication - Pass with Grade BB at SCQF Level 8 in the graded units.
