Course summary
The Foundation Degree in Business Management (Leadership) leading to the BA (Hons) Business Management is a course aiming to develop graduates with knowledge and critical understanding of business and management principles, practices, theories and applications. It will provide students with the opportunity to acquire knowledge and understanding of research and enquiry methods appropriate for today's manager in order to develop criticality in the work context. We aim to enable graduates to understand the limits of their knowledge, the nature of contestability and to develop a flexible approach to problem identification and problem solving. The course aims to provide a sustained programme of development which will enable students to reflect critically on work contexts and to develop approaches to deal with novel and unexpected managerial situations. Also develop graduates with effective communication skills, who are able to apply these in a variety of forms and for a range of audiences. Year 2 allows the progression to career-relevant pathways: Leadership, Digital Marketing, Finance or Human Resource Management. Successful completion of the Foundation Degree will allow progression to the top-up Year 3, BA (Hons) in Business Management in one of the above pathways.
