This is a broad-based horticulture programme for anyone interested in developing a range of higher and technical skills to work in the horticulture industry. If is also for people already working the industry who wish to enhance their career prospects.

The modules may include: - •Plant and Soil Science •Project Management •Human Resource Management •Plant Selection & Establishment •Plant Identification •Event management for Land-based industries •Organic Principles and Practice – in association with the Soil Association (this module is also available as a stand-alone qualification) •Hard Landscaping Principles and Practice (this module is also available as a stand-alone qualification) •Land Issues and Regulation (option)

Assessment method

•The modules are assessed via 100% coursework •Coursework comprises written/practical reports, in-class tests, case studies, essays, oral presentations and posters •A substantial amount of practical work will be undertaken on and off site and assessed •A major research project allows independent research in a topic of interest related to the subject area

Qualification requirements

•You will require a minimum of 48 UCAS points (or 120 on the old system) from a full Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area and at least 4 GCSEs at grades A* – C or 9 - 4 including Maths, English and science or Level 2 equivalent •Mature applicants with relevant experience who do not have the stated entry requirements are encouraged to apply
