In our rapidly-changing business world, human resource managers have an ever-widening remit. Increasingly, organisations want to measure their effectiveness globally, rather than locally, and take strategic decisions that influence their overall structure and function. HR professionals will be involved in much of this work. This academically rigorous course provides a sound basis for taking on senior HR roles. It focuses on how the global marketplace impacts upon labour markets, looking particularly at the changing nature of employment after the worldwide credit crunch. Modules
Cambridge trimester 3 (June) •Three-day teaching-block plus independent study support from dissertation supervisor Cambridge semester 2 (February) •Independent study with support from dissertation supervisor Chelmsford semester 1 (September) •Two three-day teaching blocks: HRM Strategy in a Competitive Environment and HRD in an International Environment Chelmsford semester (2 February) •One two-day teaching block plus independent study support from dissertation supervisor
Assessment method
We’ll assess your progress through modular assignments that incorporate written reports and essays, oral presentations, case study analysis, exams and a portfolio.
Entry requirements
A CIPD Diploma/Diploma in HRM. 1-2 years minimum experience in an HR post is preferred. All external applicants will go through the APL process. Stage 3 entry is only available if existing credit maps to the Anglia Ruskin University Diploma in Human Resource Management and was completed within the last five years. Internal applications can progress directly from the Diploma in Human Resource Management. •If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.5 ( Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University. •A CIPD Diploma/Diploma in HRM. 1-2 years minimum experience in an HR post is preferred. Ideally, you’ll also have at least one or two years’ experience in an HR post. All external applicants will go through the Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) process. Stage 3 entry is only available if your existing credits map to the Anglia Ruskin University Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and were completed within the last five years. If you’re already studying the Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management at Anglia Ruskin, you can progress directly to our Stage 3 MA.
