This course aims to combine traditional and contemporary theory with the practical skills needed for the management of information systems and technology aspects of businesses, thereby bridging the gap between technology and management. You will cover aspects such as: IT project management; IS/IT strategy; business analytics and artificial intelligence; business process engineering with enterprise system; big data intelligence and modelling; global business management; simulation and global professional development (please note, these areas are subject to change). Wherever possible, our teaching incorporates real life input, which has previously included case studies from the NHS, which provides valuable practical experience. The current teaching team also use several teaching approaches (problem based learning, flipped learning, traditional learning) and various technological approaches using virtual interactive platforms such as TRELLO, SOCRATIVE andASANA. This aims to prepare you for digital Location-Independent-Working environments. There are also opportunities for students to achieve their PRINCE2 Foundation and/or Practitioner certification subject to availability, application and an additional fee. This course includes the Consulting Global Professional Development module developed in partnership with the Chartered Management Institute.
To enter the course you need to have one of the following: An honours degree (with a minimum of a second class honours degree), or an equivalent qualification in information systems, computing or information technology related subjectsAn unclassified degree in information systems, computing or information technology plus professional experience within the field of computing. Each application will be considered on its merits and the final decision will be made by the course director.
