Nursing is one of the most rewarding careers to enter and on qualification registered nurses are employed in a variety of settings. Mental health nurses work with people who have a diverse range of health conditions, some of whom will be facing the most challenging life events. As a mental health nurse, you will deliver care to a range of adults and children with acute and complex mental health care needs, while also gaining a broader awareness of the needs of all client groups and meeting the challenges of a changing healthcare environment. With access to practice learning placements, this degree enables you to register as a qualified mental health nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), having developed the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to help plan, coordinate and deliver care in a safe, compassionate and effective way.
Please visit our website for information on available modules.
In each year, you will be assessed by written coursework, an oral task, a simulated practical exercise and an online time-limited assessment. While on practice placement, you will be supported in the development of the application of knowledge and skills, leading to the assessment of related proficiencies.
Professionally accredited courses provide industry-wide recognition of the quality of your qualification.
