Modules
You will complete a variety of modules covering the essential knowledge and skills you need for practice. These key areas include: • Company Law (15 credits) • Contract Law (15 credits) • Criminal Law (15 credits) • Foundational Legal Skills (non-credit bearing) • Land Law (15 credits) • Public Law I (15 credits) • Public Law II (15 credits) • Tort Law (15 credits) • Trusts Law (15 credits) In addition to these core modules, you will also complete a professional project. This will be completed through independent research and result in a project that could be, for example, a briefing note, presentation, article, report, or training session. The subject of this project will reflect your own interests, relating to an area of law or practice, business, or innovation. You will also write a 3,000 word reflective statement which shows your ability to act independently, reflecting on your learning and personal development throughout the project. You will be guided and supported throughout the project through meetings with a tutor supervisor and extensive online resources.
Assessment method
Our Law Conversion Course (Master's) is assessed by a variety of methods. These include: • Written exams • Multiple-choice questions, • Oral assessments • Written coursework Some examinations will be part-seen, with an advanced release of assessment material. Coursework is in the form of essays, reports or case studies, while group or individual presentations may be required to assess other competencies. The pass mark for all assessments is 50%. BPP University offers flexibility in how these assessments are undertaken, and the programmes will utilise online tools where available to deliver assessments. Online students will take invigilated assessments in London. You may request to sit assessments overseas or at a regional study centre, though this is not guaranteed, and you will need to meet certain requirements. Entry requirements
The entry requirements to study the Law Conversion Course (Master's) are: • Minimum 2:2 honours degree Students without a 2:2 honours degree from the UK or Republic of Ireland are required to evidence that they meet the academic entrance requirements of the relevant professional body. This includes applicants with overseas degrees or mature students without an undergraduate degree. If you do not think you meet the entry requirements, but have other qualifications, strong references, or relevant work experience, please contact us and we would be happy to review your options.
