Entry requirements

Qualification requirements

Non-Standard Entry Candidates who do not possess normal minimum entry qualifications e.g. mature students with relevant employment experience will be considered on an individual basis by the Programme Director and other members of the programme team. Entry of Students at Level 5 or 6 It is the policy of the School to allow students to enter at Levels 5 or 6 if they meet the following criteria: Students wishing to transfer from one of the School’s other Undergraduate degrees can do so provided they submit a formal transferal request to their Programme Director and that there is sufficient evidence that the learning outcomes of the modules covered within the programme have been adequately covered. The transfer of students at the end of year one will be at the discretion of the Programme Director. English and Maths or equivalent are desirable. We accept qualifications such as essential skills and access modules at level 2. As a widening participation HE centre that has large numbers of vocational students from non-traditional entry programmes we would be concerned about requesting GCSEs. We do however provide students to resit while they study with us. For students wishing to transfer from degree programmes at other institutions, 120 credits may be transferred to Swansea University if their programme has been broadly similar to that offered at Level 4. This is subject to approval from the relevant Programme Director.

English language requirements

We request as standard IELTS score of 6.5 for any learner who has English as a second language and cannot evidence proficiency in English through others means such as higher level qualifications achieved in the UK. This does not apply to first language Welsh speakers.
