Course summary

Our Economics BSc is taught by the Department of Political Economy and the Economics Group of King's Business School. It combines the detailed study of how individuals make decisions to address their needs and improve their lives with a practical examination of how institutional contexts and economic ideas impact the design of contemporary policy making. The course will develop your analytical and critical skills through modules in economic theory, statistics, maths and econometrics and apply these to evaluate public policies, study human behaviour and explain social phenomena. Key benefits

  • Delivered by two schools, giving you different economic perspectives and applications.
  • The Department of Political Economy is the only department of its kind in the UK.
  • Offers a case-based approach to Economic Principles in year 1, developed by the CORE project to apply real world scenarios in the teaching of economics.
  • Visiting Professor practitioners such as David Ramsden, the chief economist at the Treasury, and David Halpern, head of Number 10’s Nudge unit.
