Course summary

This course gives a grounding in the core principles of the subject. Students learn about complex issues such as the initial assessment of prospective clients, maintaining professional boundaries and analysing complex data sets. The course encourages students to take a systematic, evidence-based and ethical approach to their work, developing their ability to apply the methods they learn to a range of clients, from athletes to sedentary populations.

Entry requirements

Applicants should either have a 2nd Class Honours degree in the cognate subjects of sport and exercise science, physical sciences, physical activity, health sciences, psychology, physiotherapy, sports therapy, sports coaching, physical education or medicine, a 2nd Class Honours degree in a non-cognate subject supported by evidence of an aptitude for the subject applied for, or have equivalent experience or training, normally from within the work environment. All applications should be supported by a reference, either academic or professional. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum 6.0 in each component) or equivalent.
