Course summary

Enhance your knowledge, skills and confidence to effectively influence project management strategy for businesses and institutions with this fully online and part-time Project Management MSc. Developed by leading academics in the University of Liverpool’s AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS accredited Management School, the programme is designed to facilitate the development of technical competence in areas including risk management, monitoring, and control of projects, procurement, as well as a core understanding of operations management principles, which can advance project delivery. The programme is accredited by the Association for Project Management (APM). The APM is the only chartered membership organisation for the project profession in the world. APM’s Academic Accreditation identifies courses and modules that meet its rigorous criteria for course content, quality and standards. Why study this subject?  On this programme you will have the opportunity to develop practical judgement, critical self-awareness and the ability to reflect on and learn from experience. Students will be equipped with the appropriate knowledge and expertise to pursue qualifications such as PMQ (APM), PPQ (APM), PMP (PMI), CAPM (PMI) for those with some Project Management experience, or PFQ (APM) for those just starting out. Teaching methods and style  This programme is designed to be studied wholly online and part-time. Teaching is delivered through our state-of-the-art Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), which provides students with access to all resources required for interactive study online. On this platform you will be encouraged to work collaboratively with classmates and actively read around your topic through our comprehensive library of eBooks and journals.   Career destinations  At a module level, activities and assessments will enable students to engage with work-based issues within Project Management practice, including the opportunity to analyse and reflect on their own work organisation and role where appropriate. The underpinning philosophy of authentic assessment will ensure assignments are meaningful and enable the development of employability attributes relevant to the discipline. Potential career destinations include: finance, insurance, manufacturing, construction, government, healthcare, and the information technology industry.

Assessment method

Assessment is exclusively through online assignments rather than examinations. You will be assessed through a range of activities, including written assignments, discussion forum participation and journal entries.

If you don’t have an IELTS or equivalent certificate, you can take our free online English test to assess your proficiency. You don’t need to prove your English ability if you are a national of, or have completed a qualification equivalent to a UK degree in, any of these countries.
