Modules

Following successful completion of the Foundation Degree in Agriculture, students must complete and pass the Bridging Studies modules before they can commence the BSc (Hons) Degree course modules. Bridging Studies modules: • Research Skills and Data Management • Future Challenges for Agri-Food BSc Sustainable Agriculture (Level 6): Agri-business pathway modules: • Agri-food policy and human resource management • Farm performance management • Marketing and entrepreneurship • Literature review and research proposal • Research project • Sustainable supply chains Land Management pathway modules: • Animal welfare and ethics in agriculture • Advanced animal nutrition* • Advanced crop protection* • Literature review and research proposal • Research project • Sustainable land management policies • Sustainable supply chains *indicates optional module

Assessment method

The Bridging Studies Programme is delivered as a combination of face to face and remote delivery in the period June to August (semester 3) immediately following completion of the Foundation degree and before progression into the Honours degree. Both modules will be assessed by 100% continuous assessment with assignments submitted over the bridging period.

Qualification requirements

Students who pass the Foundation degree in Agriculture programme at CAFRE Greenmount Campus in the 2022/23 academic year will be eligible to progress via successful completion of two 40-credit bridging modules, Research Skills and Data Management and Future Challenges for Agri-Food into level 6 of the BSc Hons Sustainable Agriculture at CAFRE Greenmount. In order to be eligible for progression into the Honours degree, students must have achieved an aggregate pass mark at level 5 of at least 50%. Successful candidates can pursue either a Land Management or Agri-business pathway.
