Do you dream of an exciting electrical and electronic engineering career? Engineer your career with our industry focused HNC that meets industry demands. Whether you plan on designing electronic circuits or want help with automation, our course has all of the components to prepare you for employment. Explore multiple aspects of engineering from electrical and electronic principles to specialist areas such as programming PLCs with our industry-focused HNC. You will study a range of academic and practical modules as well as receiving industry insight based on our employer consultations. Following our course you’ll be ready to excel in engineering. Our selection of specialist modules will broaden your general knowledge of engineering. You will learn about electronic circuits and devices including how to design and assemble them. In addition, you will manage your own professional project, explore automation and understand how automation can streamline processes. Based on existing industry needs, this course bridges skill and knowledge gaps by strengthening your transferable skills and enhancing your employability. You will become a multifaceted engineer, capable of progressing to further study or stepping into more senior and management roles.

Assessment method

HNCs in Engineering are assessed using a combination of internal assessment (set and marked by Leeds City College), and internally assessed Pearson-set assignments (which are set by Pearson and marked by centres): In particular, the assessments include: ● One core unit for the HNC will be assessed by a mandatory Pearson-set assignment. ● All other units are assessed by centre-devised assignments.

At present we do not hold a Tier 4 licence and so are unable to accept applications from international students.

Qualification requirements

Two D’s in relevant A-levels or a relevant BTEC Level 3/National Certificate at MM or above. We also ask for a grade 4 or above in GCSE Maths and English. We value industrial experience too and will also considered applications based on this. English: Level B2 (CEFR), PTE 51, IELTS 5.5 or equivalent
