An HNC is a one year course equivalent to the first year of an HND or Foundation Degree. The course is a vocationally focussed higher education qualification and can lead directly to a career. On completion of an HNC, students can progress directly to Stage Two of a relevant HND or Foundation Degree, such as the FdA Computer Games Design and Production offered at Truro and Penwith College or proceed into employment. This course incorporates understanding of 2D and 3D digital production which could be used in a wide range of design and visualisation settings. The aim of this programme is to create the potential for self-employment as well as working for games design companies. This course will prepare you for a career in the innovative and fast paced world of digital games design and development, equipping you with the tools to become an indie game developer as well as the ability to merge into a larger games studio. Throughout the course you will collaborate on group projects as well as learning and engaging with the current developments in digital culture.
