Course summary

We offer PhD and MPhil supervision in Geology in areas compatible with the research interests of our academic staff including:

  • Volcanoes, Tectonics and Minerals Resources
  • Geophysics and Borehole Research
  • Palaeobiology, Palaeoenvironments and Palaeoclimates

Main research interests include: applied and environmental geology; geophysics; tectonics; geochemistry; sedimentology; palaeobiology; volcanology; micropalaeontology; borehole research.

You must hold a UK undergraduate (Bachelors) degree with at least first class or upper second class honours or an equivalent qualification from a recognised overseas institution.
