Course summary
This is a route to an Agriculture Honours Degree. It is aimed at those who already possess a Foundation Degree, HND or equivalent in Agriculture or a related area. The course is validated by the University of Bedfordshire, with all study taking place at Shuttleworth College. The course offers a scientific approach to the management of agricultural land and livestock with a strong focus on how we can help establish global food security. It fosters the use of scientific inquiry and research principles to solve problems faced in a vocational context. Practical use of farm and laboratory resources will be integral to the delivery of learning, with study trips to external agents providing enhanced learning opportunities. The course can lead to careers in arable management, crop and livestock research, land management and conservation, and scientific research into animal health and nutrition. Graduated can progress on to further post-graduate education, for example a Master of Science Degree. Shuttleworth College has excellent contacts with employers and associations in the Agriculture and Food Production Industry. We have established links with agricultural and research enterprises, national and international companies and specialists who provide a wide range of opportunities for our students. Regular visits by industry experts, industry placements and trips are essential parts of this qualification.

Assessment method
