Interested in becoming a residential or commercial chartered surveyor? To build a rewarding career valuing, selling, managing and developing a range of different property types from houses to offices and light industrial units? Then this general property management course is for you. It has been developed for students who wish to study a non-rural course at Harper Adams. There are more than 440,000 people employed in real estate activities in the UK, with a growing demand for more real estate professionals. 4 years (full-time) including a one-year work placement. A three year programme is available for applicants with at least two years, full-time relevant work experience. Please contact Admissions for further information on this option. Assessment method
The course is assessed on a mixture of coursework, examination and practical test. All taught subjects are partly assessed on course work. In addition, there are modules designed to integrate the subjects by presenting real-life client problems for students to solve. The final year dissertation provides an opportunity for students to develop an in-depth understanding of a chosen topic. Typically modules will be 50% course work and 50% examination.

Applicants are encouraged to gain 5 days’ experience with a Land Agency/Rural Practice Chartered Surveying firm or estate office before the start of the course. For full entry requirements, including details of all other qualifications accepted, please see our website www.harper.ac.uk The University is happy to consider applications from those who are studying mixed qualifications, such as combinations of BTECs and A levels. Due to the numerous combinations available it is impossible to state the entry requirements for these, but applicants can expect to receive offers with comparable grades to those without mixed qualifications.
