Course summary
Our BA programme is made up of two parts: the Foundation Degree Drama and Performance followed by the BA (Hons) Drama and Performance top-up year. This degree is based at our Bristol Institute of Performing Arts (BIPA) in north Bristol. Bristol has been voted the best city in which to live and study on numerous occasions. Bristol has a long well established history of theatres and performing arts and it is renowned for its cultural activities. BIPA is conveniently located being a 7 minute walk from Bristol Parkway Railway station and a 5 minute drive from the main crossover junction of M5/M4 motorway. You can be in London within 1.5 hours and there is easy access to the South, Wales and the North from Bristol. BIPA has excellent industry standard facilities which include a 250 and 80 seated theatre, 4 dance studios, acting studios, TV studios and technical workshops. There are lots of opportunities for students to perfect their performance skills during the academic year. We offer a wide range of trips and international residences are available from Berlin to New York. Students will receive 410 taught hours on this BA (Hons) Drama and Performance top up programme. There are no formal examinations and you will be assessed by practical work and written course work. Our staff will focus on you and help you achieve your full potential in a creative, enthusiastic and caring environment.
