Course summary
This course forms the first year of a four-year degree programme and will give you a progressive hands-on understanding of yourself as a learning practitioner. The Art and Design (with a foundation year) offers a range of teaching to suit individual students needs and help you get the most from the course. Our flexible and adaptable programme means no matter where you are from or what your background is, we can tailor our delivery to enable you to succeed. We provide students with their own dedicated workspace within a designated art or design studio. Our staff are active professionals in their field and equip our students with the essential skills needed to gain a degree with the School of Creative Arts and Engineering. Students who successfully complete the foundation year progress onto one of the following BA (Hons) programmes: 3D Designer Maker, Animation, Cartoon and Comic Arts, Fashion, Fine Art, Graphic Design, Illustration, Photography, Product Design, Stop Motion Animation and Puppet Making, Surface Pattern Design, Textile Surfaces or Transport Design
