The Foundation degree in Computing technologies (Web Based Technologies) will give you an excellent grounding in computing while allowing you to specialise in aspects relating specifically to software development. In year one you will develop your knowledge of programming, computer systems architecture, databases and data analysis, networks, wireless and systems analysis. In your second year you will continue to study a mixture of modules focusing on aspects of computing as well as modules specialising in software development. Once you have completed your foundation degree you may be eligible to progress on to a BA (Hons) top-up year at the University of Hertfordshire, subject to obtaining appropriate grades in your foundation studies. The benefits of studying a Foundation Degree with us includes high rates of tutorial support and access to tutors, smaller class sizes and access to all the facilities on the University Campus including full University of Hertfordshire student status. This gives you access to our Learning Resources Centres open 24/7(during term time), Hertfordshire Sports Village, StudyNet – a virtual learning environment providing online course materials, and our Students’ Union where you can join a club, meet new people and enjoy a taste of university life.
