Course summary
This course has been specially created for practitioners, developing the in-depth knowledge, skills and confidence to manage complex cases within specific areas of practice. We offer high-quality teaching with the opportunity to develop your practical skills, research, education and leadership. We have established links with our partner NHS trusts and the course will support your professional development in your future clinical career. You'll work with students from a diverse range of specialist backgrounds, enabling you to share best practice and experiences across multi-professional teams. This part-time course, which is studied over three years, is also available to study via a degree apprenticeship route.
Modules
Our modules will enable you to build your confidence of managing more complex cases in practice. Our curriculum has been developed to support the NHS Career Framework. You'll study a variety of modules to support your future career. This includes conducting comprehensive physical examinations, non-medical prescribing, leadership and risk management in advanced practice. In years two and three, you'll complete a portfolio project, where you'll critically evaluate dimensions of theory and practice in your area of advanced clinical practice.
Assessment method
Assessment methods range from written/digital portfolios, presentations, coursework, assignments, oral exams and objective structured clinical exams.
Entry requirements
2:2 or above bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) All applicants must be qualified health care professionals, typically with five years of experience in professional practice or longer; applicants join the course with the written agreement of their employer; in negotiation with the course director, applicants must identify an appropriately qualified clinical supervisor before commencing the course
