Our Accounting BSc provides an excellent preparation for professional practice in accounting, enabling you to work in a wider range of business, public and third-sector organisations. At the same time, you will develop yourself personally, confident in your own values, able to apply your knowledge to solve problems, and ultimately able to add value to any organisation. On completing this ACCA-accredited degree you will be exempt from nine of the ACCA professional exams, should you go on to work towards your full professional qualification.
Throughout your degree, there is a focus on you to consciously track your own increasing ability to add value to organisations. This is achieved through our Business Readiness modules, where you will gather evidence, working with your personal tutors, on developing attributes and skills. In your first year, you will be introduced to financial and management accounting techniques, including the preparation of financial reports with the understanding of the users and uses of such reports. In year two, as well as continuing to develop your business readiness, you will be introduced to people and project management, which will complement your developing accounting skills. Modules include the Law of Business Enterprises and Taxation Practice In the third year, in addition to your dissertation in accounting, you will build your financial skills through modules such as Advanced Financial Accounting, Corporate Finance, Audit Practice and Ethics, and Accounting for Decision Making.
