Learn financial and management accounting techniques, and explore key business issues with our BSc Accounting. We also offer the opportunity of a one-year paid work placement Our Accounting BSc provides an excellent preparation for professional practice in accounting, enabling you to work in a wider range of business, public and third-sector organisations. At the same time, you will develop yourself personally, confident in your own values, able to apply your knowledge to solve problems, and ultimately able to add value to any organisation. You will learn financial and management accounting techniques, including the preparation of financial reports. You will also explore the latest business issues such as the growth in digital commerce, developments in data analysis, and the dynamic nature of the global business environment. n addition to this you will be taught about people and project management, to complement your developing accounting skills. Studying at Roehampton you will become highly employable and capable, with the knowledge and skills required by employers and professional accounting bodies. On completing this ACCA-accredited degree you will be exempt from nine of the ACCA professional exams, should you go on to work towards your full professional qualification. The degree is also accredited by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), so you just need to take six CIMA exams to complete your CIMA qualification. Taught on our south-west London campus, on this degree you will have access to many opportunities for work experience through our Careers Team, and access to face-to-face and 24/7 online careers support, whether you choose to live on campus or commute to us. This course offers all students the option of a one-year paid work placement, to boost your employability even further. If you choose this route, you will take the placement following year two of your course, and then return to complete your degree. A placement year is the perfect opportunity to gain valuable work experience, to build on the career skills we will teach you on this degree. The connections you make on the placement will improve your career prospects further, and equip you with the skills you need to secure graduate-level employment. Key features:

Modules
Throughout your degree, there is a focus on you to consciously track your own increasing ability to add value to organisations. This is achieved through our Business Readiness modules, where you will gather evidence, working with your personal tutors, on developing attributes and skills. In your first year, you will be introduced to financial and management accounting techniques, including the preparation of financial reports with the understanding of the users and uses of such reports. In year two, as well as continuing to develop your business readiness, you will be introduced to people and project management, which will complement your developing accounting skills. Modules include the Law of Business Enterprises and Taxation Practice In the third year, in addition to your dissertation in accounting, you will build your financial skills through modules such as Advanced Financial Accounting, Corporate Finance, Audit Practice and Ethics, and Accounting for Decision Making.
