Grasp the opportunity to demonstrate business skills and knowledge in the workplace. MBA with Placement is a taught course which incorporates a 12-month work placement, facilitated by the University. During your studies, you will have the opportunity to apply to undertake a placement to utilise and demonstrate your skills and knowledge in a work environment. Our dedicated faculty placements team is well-connected with regional and national employers and each year assists students in applying for roles in areas including marketing, human resources, finance, operations and supply-chain positions. Securing a work placement is a competitive process and we will help you with the selection process from application to interview. The University will support your efforts in securing a placement or work experience. Our students have secured placements with companies including: Nissan, Caterpillar, Fujitsu, Network Rail and White Lodging Services, as well as small entrepreneurial firms in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. If you are unsuccessful in securing a placement, you will be able to transfer to the 24-month taught route.

Assessment method

Teaching methods include lectures, seminars, class discussions, case studies, group work, presentations and applied study. Your progress will be assessed with the dissertation and assignments, as well as exams in some topics. Compared to an undergraduate course, you will find that this Masters course requires a higher level of independent reading and research.

Entry requirements

To apply for this course you need at least a 2:2 honours degree, you must also have a minimum of six months work experience at graduate level, in either a managerial or professional capacity which may include voluntary work, placements, internships, project management etc.
