Course summary

The Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Business Administration aims to develop pro-active decision makers, managers and leaders for a variety of careers in business sectors in a global context. The programme focusses on innovation, creativity and leadership, making it a varied and challenging journey towards awareness of one’s own professional skills and abilities. A grouping of essential core subjects are uniquely combined with the study of a language, two integral internship placements, integrative workshops and a distinctive constellation of interlocking subjects ensures that each student receives the knowledge and the analytical, creative and quantitative expertise needed to be able to manage people, resources and information in a dynamic business environment. With these key skills ESE students are more attractive to employers, and know how to enable companies to achieve their goals and objectives in the private, public and non-profit sectors. Students will also have the added advantage of being able to pursue the BSc in Business Administration in any of the ESE campuses, whether London, Madrid, Milan, Florence or Rome. They will have the unique opportunity to transfer between campuses on a per term or per year basis, experiencing the same programme in multiple international contexts and cultures. • Two internship placements selected from companies worldwide • The possibility of transferring between campuses in London, Milan, Madrid, Florence and Rome on a per term or per year basis • Compact class sizes which enable faculty to provide the individual attention needed to help you discover your special skills and succeed in your chosen pathway • Starting dates in September, January, and April • Academic credit for foreign language modules which will increase employability • Additional workshops and guest lectures that provide the knowledge, skills, practice for maximum personal and academic development

Assessment method

Assessment methods are designed not only to grade performance but to motivate learners and influence their learning strategies. Formative feedback will be offered for contributory assessments and other activities that take place during the course of the module. Also, inter- sessional tasks which students will be asked to undertake will be reflective not only of the nature of the examination questions but also of real workplace scenarios in order to enhance their professional skills. Formative feedback will focus on ways of improving work and will typically be offered in a number of ways appropriate for the kind of task undertaken by the student, including: • In person, either individually, or collectively during seminars, workshops, or tutorials. • Via personal email • Via the virtual learning environment. Assessment strategies are devised on a course by course basis according to the nature of the material to be covered, and can include anything from in-class quizzes and exams to individual or group projects, essays and case studies.

Qualified teacher status (QTS)

To work as a teacher at a state school in England or Wales, you will need to achieve qualified teacher status (QTS). This is offered on this course for the following level:

Entry requirements for advanced entry (i.e. into Year 2 and beyond)

Students wishing to apply for credit transfer from previous studies to the ESE Degree Programme, may be admitted with credit transfers by demonstrating that they have already achieved the equivalent number and level of credits in similar subjects. The maximum amount of transferable credit allowed shall not normally exceed 2/3 of the course or 240 units (120 ECTS or 75 US credits) Relevant transcripts and module specifications will need to be submitted upon application. International applicants

ESE hosts students from over 80 countries in all of its centres. While we are approved to sponsor what was known as a student visitor visa for up to six months, we do not yet have a long-term study sponsor license for the UK. !nternational students wanting to enrol on degree courses are elibible for study in our European Centres and may apply and study in Madrid, Rome, Florence and Milan. We are in the process of registration with the office for students and in the meantime can and do invite international students for short courses and executive study in London. International students may enrol and apply for Visas for Short Courses in all of our centres. Students study in the English language in all centres.

Our student-focused approach puts individuals in the foreground and emphasises their professional dreams over any particular marks they may or may not have achieved during their studies. Class sizes are small, and we aim to accompany students individually through both their academic and practical training, providing assistance wherever necessary. ENGLISH Language requirements**: IELTS 6.0 (169 – 175) TOEFL iBT 87; Pearson Test 50-57; Cambridge CAE grade C; Trinity College ISE II (Students have up to 90 days from the beginning of their course to submit the sufficient English language scores). Students have up to 90 days to submit their English Language One photograph (passport-sized) * All non-English documents must be officially translated ** Candidates who have completed their studies in the English language (at least 2 years) are not required to present a language qualification. We encourage students to contact our student counselors at each ESE centre directly for more personalised assistance in identifying the most appropriate course and any additional assistance that may be required during the application process. Sponsorship information

ESE has awarded milions of pounds in scholarships and would like to encourage students – both undergraduates and postgraduates – to come to the European School of Economics regardless of their financial circumstances. The scholarships ESE offers enable prospective students to receive reductions on tuition. No reduction is allowed on Registration Fee and/or on other applicable fees. All scholarships are awarded subject to the prospective student meeting ESE’s entry requirements and abiding by the rules and regulations. To be eligible to apply for a scholarship the student will need to have first been accepted and offered admission to study at ESE. Our policy is to make an experience at ESE financially possible for all accepted students. Scholarships are awarded across all programs of study, varying from nominal to substantial tuition reduction. Students interested in se- curing a scholarship are encouraged to apply using the prescribed Scholarship Application Form available from the Office of Admission. Scholarship application forms will not be considered unless accompanied by a completed course application.
