Course summary

This distinctive new interdisciplinary degree focuses upon the significance and uses of new and traditional media platforms in contemporary culture. Learning how contemporary culture is created through the media arts is at its heart, as is the influence and interrelations between media forms, such as film, television, web-based platforms, contemporary art and popular culture. The teaching staff are leading researchers across the field of contemporary culture, media and the arts, whose publications are shaping their subjects. As a consequence, your learning takes place at the cutting edge of thought about how the media arts are influencing, enriching and transforming our lives. The programme offers practice-based learning, as well as the opportunity to study abroad for a year, or undertake an internship in the UK or abroad.
