The Sport & Leisure Management with Foundation Year BA (Hons) course aims to provide you with a solid grounding for building a career developing and managing sports, sports leadership and leisure events management. The strength of the course lies in preparing students, who are unable to follow the more traditional route onto a degree course in Sport & Leisure Management. The first year aims to provide you with a solid grounding for building a career in management. You will learn all the key components of successful leadership, along with essential knowledge of general business operations domestically and globally. Students who successfully complete their foundation year will then progress onto the Sport & Leisure Management BA (Hons). Progression onto the degree element of Sport & Leisure Management BA (Hons) aims to create work-ready graduates with skills in developing and managing sports, sports leadership and leisure events management. The Sport & Leisure Management BA (Hons) course has been designed in conjunction with a range of collaborators and stakeholder input with the aim that you graduate with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive, be that locally, nationally or internationally. Applicants who do not have Level 3 (A-level or equivalent) qualifications. We can considered on an individual basis provided that you have 5 GCSEs at grade 4 / C or above including English and Mathematics plus two years relevant work experience. Your application will be considered on an individual basis and the application is reviewed as a whole, which includes previous and predicted qualifications, experience, reference and Personal statement that outlines your motivation to study the course. The University also accepts the BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate/BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma and BTEC Level 3 National Diploma/BTEC Level 3 Diploma for entry onto degree programmes, provided that they are studied in combination with other qualifications that are equivalent to three A2 Levels. This may include subject specific requirements where necessary.
