Course summary

Whether you want to be the next Tarantino, a screenwriter or become a critic, our Film degree delivers the core skills that you'll need to succeed. You'll gain hands-on practice in film-making and build the technical competencies that are vital for your career. We designed this course to professional industry standards, you'll learn:

  • film production
  • film criticism
  • film history
  • how to apply these techniques and ideas to your own work.
You can specialise in:
  • screenwriting
  • production management
  • new media
  • independent film.
Students can apply for an exclusive year-long paid internship in the film industry between year two and three. In your final year you can opt to do a work placement or a live, industry-mentored project. Our established links with the film industry enable students to meet professionals at regular film events. Our students have worked on productions including Skyfall, Slumdog Millionaire, Inglourious Basterds, Saturday Kitchen and Downton Abbey.
