Physiotherapy is a constantly evolving profession which requires practitioners to demonstrate best practice in the best interests of service users. Our Advanced Physiotherapy (Neurology) specialist programme advances your knowledge of neurological conditions that impact the nervous system and physical movement. Exploring core areas such as assistive technologies in neuromuscular rehabilitation and concepts of neurological rehabilitation, you will be encouraged to challenge current practices in neurological physiotherapy to ensure that you are able to deliver high-quality care based upon a solid evidence base. You will engage with the evaluation of existing treatments, considering new approaches for physiotherapy practice. Through critical analysis and evaluation, you will utilise current research literature to inform your suggestions and developments for improved clinical practice and patient outcomes. You will explore themes such as behaviour change for health and well-being, applied clinical anatomy and the physiology of neuromusculoskeletal tissue to advance your knowledge base in the field. Entry requirements

The course is open to appropriately qualified physiotherapists who are interested in acquiring new knowledge and/or deepening existing knowledge in the field of neurological physiotherapy. Applicants should normally have a first or second- class honours degree (2.1 or 2.2) (or overseas equivalent) in Physiotherapy. This course is only available part-time and we do not provide Tier 4 sponsorship for part-time courses. All applications are assessed on an individual basis. Applicants should ensure that their personal statements identify why they wish to study this course.
