Course summary

Pathway to becoming a Graduate. This Top-Up Degree will provide a local programme of study in Public Sector Management that will enable students to acquire and develop lifelong, independent, reflective skills, intellectual, practical and transferable skills and knowledge, which will enhance their employability and career prospects to their full potential in the labour market and the Public Sector employment sector. The degree will enable students to develop a critical understanding of the subject areas through academic study, in-depth research, problem solving, critically examine, interpret, and evaluate data and information within the context of Public Sector Management, the UK Government and beyond. Also for students to demonstrate an understanding and critical awareness of the moral, ethical, environmental, global affairs and legal issues and polices within the workplace that underpin best practice. This course is primarily designed for face-to-face learning, with attendance during lessons for the specified hours within the validation document. However, there may be periods of study where the government advises TEC Partnership that it is not safe to open campuses, or there is limited access due to social distancing measures. If the campus is closed, TEC Partnership will deliver your sessions online and offer you the necessary support and resources remotely. If there is limited access due to social distancing measures a blended model will be adopted, with some lessons taking place in small groups and others using online sessions and support.

Assessment method

You will be assessed during the BA (Hons) Top Up Degree through different assessment methods such as presentations, written reports and essays, academic posters, questions, ethics application and the completion of a dissertation

Entry requirements

Qualification requirements

FdA Level 5 or HND and college interview Students will be required to have successfully completed 240 credits from the first two years of study on a Foundation Degree programme or Higher National Diploma Programme. The TEC Partnership will also encourage applications from non-traditional learners who lack formal academic qualifications. All such non-traditional applicants will be interviewed, set an appropriate piece of work (entry assignment) and a judgement made taking into account their academic potential and relevant experience. Accreditation of prior learning Applicants may be admitted with credit for prior certificated learning (APcL) or work/life experience or other uncertificated learning (APeL) - refer to East Riding College Admissions Policy.
