Course summary
Overview Studying Medicine at Norwich Medical School means that you’ll join an exceptional group of medical students studying in a thriving student-centred learning environment, where students and staff share a passion for making a positive difference to people’s lives. Being a doctor is a privileged position which has at its heart a real and deep-seated vocation to help people. It’s a demanding and challenging profession, but very rewarding. Our course focuses on relating your learning to real life, using scenarios and clinical problems from patients, with an emphasis on developing your clinical experience as well as your theoretical knowledge from the start. At Norwich Medical School, we believe in learning in context. From the very first weeks of our course, you’ll spend time every week in clinical practice, ensuring that you're able to apply your learning to patients in the same week. Modules
In Year 1 you’ll be introduced to the human life course and the musculoskeletal system. Year 2 will focus on treating blood and skin diseases and also examines circulation and respiration. In Year 3 you will undertake modules in Homeostasis and Hormones and Digestion and Nutrition. At this stage, the course also focusses on the senses. In your fourth year, you will focus on Reproduction and Growth and Development, engaging in a range of health issues relating to children. In Year 5, you will undertake a further three modules which will cover a variety of advanced topics including Emergency Care. At this stage, you will also undertake a 10-week placement split between a medical and surgical speciality.

Additional fee information
Tuition fees increase annually for all students in subsequent years of study. Any fee increase is based on the fee for the year that you register. Home undergraduate fees, whose rates are regulated by the UK Government, will be amended in line with any alteration advised by the UK Government. Fees not regulated by the UK Government will increase by a maximum of 4% or RPI-X whichever is the higher. RPI-X is the Retail Prices Index excluding mortgage interest.
