Course summary
The BA (Hons) Acting and Stage and Screen Top Up course enables applicants who have completed an HND/FdA in a relevant Acting/Drama discipline to progress onto the final year of the BA qualification. Our Acting for Stage and Screen degree aims to create skilled actors with an ability to work across all performance mediums, balancing acting for TV, film and digital media alongside theatre work. Whilst the focus is on acting, the transferable skills from an undergraduate arts degree can prepare you for postgraduate study, including teacher training, as well as work in the wider creative and cultural industries. Practical acting workshops form the basis of your course, with further classes developing your critical and evaluative skills. We teach current acting practice of embodied and psycho-physical acting techniques, drawing upon the specialist work of practitioners such as Demidov, Chekhov and Merlin amongst others. Our team of lecturers is made up of experienced actors, directors and practitioners. We have links with many local, regional and national media, theatre and arts organisations, and encourage you to take up industry work experience as part of your degree.
