Course summary

Develop your understanding of how the human body functions in health and disease. Our diverse foundation degree, taught at New City College, focuses on many areas of medical sciences and biosciences. Your studies will include practical-based modules, blood science as well as a research project which will help you to develop multidisciplinary understanding of human health and disease. You'll be taught human biology, exploring how the body and cells work before moving on to learn about disease and pathology. You'll develop practical laboratory skills as well as communication, team-working and problem-solving skills, ensuring you'll graduate ready for the workplace or further study. Taught by New City College.

Modules

Course Structure - Year 1 - You'll will study vital fundamental sciences including anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, genetics, cell biology, infection and immunity and biomedical skills. Course Structure - Year 2 - You'll develop your understanding on blood science, pharmacology and toxicology, pathophysiology and nutrition and research skills.

Assessment method

There are a wide range of assessments including practical report writing, essays, investigative reports, group and individual presentations, lab skills assessments, interpretation tests and exams.
