Modules

Module A: Process and Practice (Year 1) Assessment 1: Concept and Development (85 Credits) This unit covers the history, theory, and key techniques of stage and screen acting. You'll study methods like Stanislavski and Meisner, develop character and script analysis skills, and build confidence in voice, movement, and emotion through practical workshops. The unit also explores the social and professional contexts of performance. Assessment 2: Creative Project (35 Credits) You’ll apply your learning through a live or recorded project, involving research, rehearsal, and performance of a scripted or devised piece. Reflecting industry practice, this project takes you from interpreting a director’s vision to presenting to an audience, marking your first major step as a professional performer. Module B: Professional Creative Practice (Year 2) Assessment 1: Personal Professional Development (45 Credits) This unit supports your development as a working actor, focusing on your strengths, goals, and performance style. You'll explore auditioning, pitching, and adapting to various formats, while building a professional portfolio with CVs, headshots, showreels, and self-tapes. The unit also covers casting, representation, and the business of acting. Assessment 2: Professional Project (75 Credits) In this unit, you’ll create and perform a major acting project — such as a stage production, short film, or devised piece. You’ll lead the process from concept to performance, incorporating feedback, managing rehearsals, and meeting industry standards. This final work showcases your range, technique, and professional readiness. ADDITIONAL COURSES: Free masterclasses hosted by industry professionals through Raindance Film Festival.
