Modules
The Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND in Construction qualification is a Level 5 qualification made up of 120 credits. The course will build on previous units already obtained on Construction HNC. Mandatory units are: · Group Project (Pearson Set) · Contracts and Management · Project Management · Management for Complex Buildings The remainder credits are achieved through three optional units which may include: · Environment Assessment & Monitoring · Personal Professional Development · Alternative Methods of Construction · Advanced Building Information Modelling · Maintenance and Operations · Construction Data Management We regularly review our course content, to make it relevant and current for the benefit of our students. Assessment method
All modules are assessed by assignments; each unit's assessment is matched to the content of the unit. Each unit can be assessed at Pass, Merit or Distinction levels, which are combined at the end of the qualification to give an overall grade of Pass, Merit or Distinction for the qualification.

Admission tests
Interview
All applicants are required to attend an interview and will be notified of the date and time via email, a text reminder is also sent the day before the interview. Applicants applying from outside the West Midlands alternative interview arrangements can be made for you, but we strongly encourage all prospective applicants come along to view Solihull College and University Centre’s facilities and meet the teaching teams. As part of your interview and possibly your offer you will be required to provide your original certificates, including GCSE’s or equivalents.
Institutions Own Test (IOT)
Applicants who do not meet the standard entry criteria but have appropriate industry and life experiences will have their prior learning and skills taken into account and maybe required to complete an Aptitude assessment (this will be advised at interview).
English language requirements
Students who are non-native English speakers, or who have not studied the final two years of school in English, but can demonstrate capability in English at a standard commensurate to IELTS 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 being awarded on individual sections for a level 4, 5 or 6 qualification, will be considered as eligible to apply for the programme/course.
