What you will study Our fully accredited MSc Civil Engineering will help you acquire advanced capabilities and in-depth knowledge across a range of civil engineering disciplines, including structural engineering, construction management, geotechnical engineering and water/environmental engineering, allowing you to tailor your degree according to your aspirations. This course offers six study streams: bridge engineering, structural engineering, construction management, geotechnical engineering, water/environmental engineering and infrastructure management, sustainability and resilience engineering. If you’re an engineer working in the construction industry and you hold a related degree, such as engineering geology or construction management, this course will provide you with the opportunity to expand on your existing knowledge and skills. It’s also designed to update the technical skills of practising engineers engaged in the planning, design, construction and operation of civil engineering works.

Entry requirements

A minimum of a 2:2 UK honours degree in civil engineering (or mechanical engineering, architecture, land surveying or other related subjects), or equivalent recognised international degree. Applicants will be considered on an individual basis, based on strength in specific subjects related to the MSc programme and/or professional experience. English language requirements IELTS Academic: 6.5 overall with 6.0 in Writing and 5.5 in each other element
