Course summary
Learn how to communicate effectively through visual means and create images that can be used in a variety of ways including in books, magazines, merchandise, and digital media. Develop your skills in research, storytelling and making, using traditional and contemporary production methods. You'll learn how to engage your audience and develop your own professional practice. Peer review from your classmates is a big part of our projects and will help you gain skills in critiquing other work. Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design has digital and printmaking facilities. You will use them to experiment with a wide range of media, including book and narrative creation, drawing, and graphic arts. There are also opportunities to explore photography, textiles, moving, and interactive media. You will have the opportunity to enter competitions and compete for awards. You may also be able to attend D&AD's 'New Blood', which is an international showcase of the best graduates in visual communication and advertising. Our graduates are in high demand. Our alumni go on to work for major design studios and organisations including the New York Times, The Guardian, and Time Out, and others have set up their own agencies.
