Course summary

This course is a specialist postgraduate degree. You’ll gain the tools and techniques you need to undertake a digital forensic investigation, analyse evidential data and to produce documentation for use in the criminal and civil legal system. The aim is to provide you with the knowledge and skills to be able to undertake digital forensic investigation in accordance with established professional practices and legal requirements. To achieve this, the course has been designed to create effective cyber forensic investigators who will have acquired the necessary technical skills and knowledge to work within a managerial role in the industry. Each module will be delivered in a five-day block of study – combining traditional lectures and tutorials with support from industry case studies and seminars. Assignments issued at the end of each block will be simulating real-world scenarios and, where possible, live briefs will be used. Teamwork and communication skills are embedded throughout.


Entry requirements

- 2.2 Honors degree or equivalent or a relevant postgraduate or professional qualification. Relevant work experience will also be taken into consideration. - The program requires competency in IT, computer programming, networking or databases either from a relevant first degree or professional experience.


English language requirements

International students will need to produce evidence of an acceptable score on an approved English language test such as IELTS. We run pre-sessional English language courses to help you prepare for undergraduate or postgraduate study.
