This exciting new course follows on from our well-established Level 4 HNC in International Tourism Management and dives deeper into the dynamic and exciting world of travel and tourism. You will learn about operational practice as well as the strategic development of the UK, European and international travel and tourism industries. About the course This Level 5 HND top-up course is intended for those applicants who have already obtained (or expect to achieve) a full Level 4 in this subject. (such as a Higher National Certificate, Certificate of Higher Education - CertHE - or the first year of a Foundation Degree or full Bachelor's degree). Whether you are comparatively new to travel and tourism or have relevant previous experience and want to widen your horizons, this highly-regarded qualification could enhance your future career prospects. HND modules include: -Research Project -Strategic Planning for Air Transport -Tourist Resort Management -Special Interest Tourism -Managing and Running a Small Business -Cruise Management -Tourism Consumer Behaviour and Insights Assessment Assignments (including timed assessments – some under examination conditions), individual and group presentations, discussions, academic posters, displays, leaflets, recorded interviews/role plays, reflective journals and work-based projects. New City Hub campus The Travel and Tourism department is based at the college's new £58 million City Hub campus, near Nottingham train station. The campus features state of the art teaching and learning facilities, science laboratories, aviation training cabin, with a restaurant, cafe and performing arts venue. Assessment method
Units are assessed via a range of internally set and assessed assignments including: reports, case studies, oral presentations, practical assessments, individual project work, data analysis, research, investigation, problem-solving tasks and portfolios of evidence.
