Course summary

The MA in Languages and Cultures offers you the opportunity to deepen your understanding of global languages, cultures and societies, with the support of world-leading scholars at an internationally recognised university. The programme will equip you with a deepened multicultural knowledge, and with the skills of analysis, communication and critical thinking necessary to excel in a wide range of careers.

Modules

Core modules include: Approaches to Languages and Cultures; Memory in National and Transnational Contexts; Narrative, Place, Identity; Nation, Culture, Power; Transnational Movement in the Age of Globalisation

Assessment method

You will be assessed by traditional means, such as Research Papers and shorter pieces of assessed work, individual and group presentations, workshops and a 20,000 word dissertation.


Entry requirements

Upper 2nd Class Honours degree in English, linguistics, modern languages or other relevant discipline.
