WHY CHOOSE THIS COURSE? Through a unique mix of history, politics and journalism, this innovative new degree will help you understand the world as it was, as it is now, and how it could be. It's for ambitious and curious students who want to solve the world's problems. A brand new course for September 2021 for people who want to really understand the world we live in and have a burning desire to make things better. It's unique because it blends the study of history, politics and journalism to shed light on the root causes of today's societal issues. IS THIS COURSE FOR YOU? If you're looking to develop problem-solving skills and a 'can do' attitude that will help you go into a wide range of job roles including in politics, campaigning, think-tanks, NGOs, charities, civil or diplomatic services this course is for you. HOW YOU WILL LEARN You’ll have the chance to apply your learning by taking part in debates and public-facing events, working with regional organisations. Develop your communication skills and confidence with thought-provoking debates and discussions. OPPORTUNITIES AND EXPERIENCES You will work with a group, organisation or company on a project that either recommends or implements change. You will also get another opportunity to problem-solve with an advanced community or digital project. You’ll also develop a research paper about the future sustainability and present your findings at a conference, meaning you’ll start to make a difference whilst your studying. CAREERS AND EMPLOYABILITY Graduates will be well-informed about the major global issues of our time and the skills you gain will make you attractive to employers in politics, journalism, campaigning, think-tanks, NGOs (Non-Governmental Organisations), charities, the civil or diplomatic services, and inter-governmental institutions.
