The course is for those who are already qualified as counsellors. It allows learners to update their skills and knowledge. It also helps learners to access work in Coleg Sir Gar areas such as using cognitive behaviour therapy; trauma work; working with young people, Group work and couples counselling and other subjects. It will be valuable if the future regulation of counselling requires qualified counsellors to have a first degree in counselling. Applicants will have a counselling qualification having already completed college’s foundation degree or an equivalent qualification. The BA offers continuous professional development for qualified counsellors following their initial training and offers applicants the opportunity to obtain a full BA honours degree.
