Course summary

The course is designed to enable students to achieve a practically-based vocational qualification. The programme incorporates presentations from specialist guest speakers and visits to industry sites. There is also a work-based learning module, with assistance from industry personnel in the assessment of students’ performance.

Qualification requirements

Normally 5 GCSEs Including Maths and English (or equivalents) are required, however, applicants are advised to check with the University Centre if they do not possess the specific qualifications. The University Centre may consider applicants with work experience within a relevant industry in place of some qualifications. Applicants who believe they may be eligible for Accreditation of Prior Certificated and/or Experiential Learning (APCL/APEL) will be considered on an individual basis.
