Course summary
The aim of the qualification is to develop students’ leadership and management skills, knowledge and understanding to achieve high performance in the business environment. They will learn how to lead and manage within different business functions, be able to respond to change and tackle a range of complex business situations. They will also learn how to provide insight into business operations and the opportunities and challenges presented by a global marketplace so that students can create and deliver operational plans that achieve goals and objective. They will also develop their digital skills for the workplace. They will be equipped with knowledge and understanding of organisational values, culturally diverse organisations, cross-cultural issues, diversity and values. Students will have their lessons in business orientated classrooms. There will be a range of guest speakers and students will have an opportunity to gain support with securing work experience if they would like to gain different experiences in the workplace. For the L4 Certificate they will complete 8 modules all assessed with assignments. In the second year they will complete a further 8 modules again assessed with assignments. Two assignments per year are set by Pearson with the remaining assignments being set by Canterbury College. The qualifications are graded at a pass, merit or distinction. Through completion of the 2 year programme students can aspire to become a HR Assistant, Marketing Executive, Procurement Assistant and with further workplace experience Operations Manager, Regional Manager, Divisional Manager, Department Manager and Specialist Managers. Likewise students could progress on to a BA Hons in a Business related subject.
