Course summary
This programme will suit students who wish to develop the knowledge and understanding of public services, both uniformed and non-uniformed. This will be achieved through learning activities that emphasis students’ engagement with research-led resources. There will be opportunities for students to gain experience of public services activities and will relate to authentic, real-world problems and cases.
Modules
Two semesters per academic year. Full-time students typically study 60-credits worth of modules per semester during the daytime. Part-time students typically study 60-credits worth of modules per year. Typical Modules include (please note these are a selection): Leadership and Culture Mental Health and the Public Services Terrorism and Counter Terrorism Crime reduction and Community Safety Crime and Substance Misuse Blue Light Responding Work Based Experience Policing in Today's Society Dissertation
Assessment method
You will need to complete a selection of portfolios, presentation and written assignments as you progress through the course. In addition students will be assessed on a work based evaluation.
